Groov Interactive – Community Guidelines

Last Updated: September 11, 2025

Welcome to the Groov Community!

Our mission at Groov is to build a vibrant, inclusive, and exciting central hub for the entire esports ecosystem – players, teams, creators, organizers, and fans alike. Groov is a community for users aged 16 and older, and we encourage positive interactions suitable for everyone within this diverse age group. To achieve our mission, we need everyone to contribute to a positive and respectful environment. These community guidelines (the “Community Guidelines”) outline the standards of behavior expected across our digital services, including on our website (accessible via the URL: Groov.gg) (the “Website”), web applications (such as the Groov web app and the Seeder tournament platform) and other mobile applications (collectively the "Platform") and reflect our legal obligations under applicable laws, including but not limited to those under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021) (“PDPL”), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) (“GDPR”) and the EU Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065) (the “EU Digital Services Act”).

By using and accessing Groov and our Platform, you acknowledge and agree to at all times adhere to our Community Guidelines, which are part of our Terms & Conditions. You further acknowledge and agree that any and all violations may lead to appropriate actions against your account or content, so please read them carefully. Let's work together to make Groov an awesome place for everyone!

Our Core Principles:

  • Respect Everyone: Treat all members of the Groov community with courtesy and respect, regardless of their skill level, background, religious or political beliefs, race, age, gender or identity.

  • Play Fair, Compete with Integrity: Uphold the spirit of fair competition in all tournaments and gameplay.

  • Create Responsibly: Share content that is positive, constructive, or entertaining, and always respectful of others and the law.

  • Keep it Safe: Help us maintain a safe space for all users, free from harm, harassment and exploitation.

  • Be Authentic: Represent yourself and your content truthfully and ensure that any such representation are not designed to mislead or deceive others.

  • Comply with the Law: Ensure that your activity on the Platform complies with all applicable laws, including those governing data protection, online safety, content moderation and intellectual property.

What We Encourage (The Groov Spirit):

  • DO communicate with respect and sportsmanship in all chats, comments, ‘Hangouts’, and team interactions. Healthy debate is acceptable, however personal attacks, bullying and slander are not.

  • DO compete with honor in all tournaments. Know the rules set by Organizers (including those using our ‘Seeder’ platform for complex events), play your best, and respect your opponents, teammates and our staff.

  • DO create and share awesome content on ‘Showcase’ and ‘Hangouts’ that you have the rights to share. Be original, be creative, and be positive!

  • DO provide constructive feedback about games, features, or the Platform in a respectful manner. We value your input but aim to be constructive rather than purely negative or inflammatory.

  • DO use platform features such as ‘Digital Gifting’ and ‘Crystal’ transactions responsibly and for their intended purpose, to genuinely show appreciation, participate in events, or enhance your experience. Financial support should always be voluntary.

  • DO foster a welcoming environment. Help new users, share your knowledge, and celebrate the successes of others.

  • DO use our reporting tools if you see content or behavior that you believe violates these Community Guidelines. You’re helping keep the community safe.

  • DO treat Groov staff and official moderators with respect. They are here to help maintain a safe and fair environment. Do not abuse or obstruct them in the course of their duties.

  • DO remember that your words and content have an impact. Think before you post, stream, or chat, and strive to contribute positively to the community.

  • DO secure your Account and be mindful of online safety practices.

What Is Not Allowed (Maintaining a Healthy Platform):

To ensure Groov remains a positive and safe space, the following behaviors and content are strictly prohibited. Violations can lead to actions as outlined in the "Consequences" section below.

1. Hate Speech, Harassment, and Bullying

  • No Hate Speech: Do not promote, encourage, or engage in any form of hate speech. This includes content or behavior that attacks or demeans individuals or groups based on attributes such as race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, age, disability, serious medical conditions, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic or attribute.

  • No Harassment: Do not engage in targeted harassment, stalking, personal attacks, or incitement of harassment against other users or Groov staff. This includes unwanted sexual advances or derogatory comments about someone's appearance or personal life.

  • No Bullying or Threats: Do not bully, threaten, or intimidate others. Do not wish or hope for harm on others.

2. Cheating, Unfair Play, and Tournament Manipulation

  • No Cheating: Zero tolerance for using cheats, hacks, unauthorized third-party software, scripts, exploits, or any means to gain an unfair advantage in any game or tournament on the Groov Platform.

  • No Match Manipulation: Do not engage in match-fixing, colluding with opponents, win trading, or any other activity that undermines the integrity of competitions.

  • No Smurfing/Boosting (where prohibited): Do not misrepresent your skill level to enter inappropriate competitions or manipulate ranking systems, if specific tournament rules or platform policies prohibit this.

  • Respect Organizer Decisions: Adhere to the rules and decisions made by Tournament Organizers (including those using ‘Seeder’). Use official appeal channels if you believe a decision is incorrect (please refer to our Terms & Conditions).

3. Sexually Explicit Content, Nudity, and Exploitation

  • No Pornography or Graphic Sexual Content: Do not share content that is sexually explicit, pornographic, or intended for gratuitous sexual arousal.

  • No Non-Consensual Content: Do not share or threaten to share intimate images or videos of others taken or shared without their consent.

  • Protect Minors: No content that sexually exploits, endangers, or involves minors is to be generated or shared over the Platform. We have a zero-tolerance policy and will report such content to law enforcement. At all times, remember that our platform is for users aged 16+.

4. Violence, Self-Harm, and Dangerous Activities

  • No Glorification of Violence: Do not share content that incites, glorifies, or encourages real-world violence against individuals or groups.

  • No Promotion of Self-Harm: Do not share content that encourages or glorifies suicide, self-injury, or eating disorders. We may remove such content and provide resources where appropriate.

  • No Dangerous or Illegal Acts: Do not promote, depict, or facilitate dangerous activities or illegal acts (e.g. use of illegal drugs, illegal gambling where applicable and the performance of dangerous pranks).

5. Impersonation and Misrepresentation

  • No Impersonation: Do not impersonate other individuals (including other users, creators, Groov staff, or public figures) or brands in a way that is intended to deceive or mislead others. Parody or fan accounts must be clearly and explicitly identified as such.

  • Be Authentic: Do not misrepresent your identity or qualifications, especially when acting as an ‘Organizer’, ‘Creator,’ or in any role that implies authority or trust.

6. Intellectual Property Violations

  • Respect Copyrights & Trademarks: Only upload content (videos for ‘Showcase’, stream content for ‘Hangouts’, avatars, avatar sets, profile pictures, team logos, tournament assets) that you have created yourself or have explicit permission from the rights-holder to use. Unauthorized use of copyrighted music, videos, images, or logos are not allowed under any circumstances whatsoever.

7. Spam, Scams, and Malicious Conduct

  • No Spam: Do not post repetitive, unwanted messages or content, or use misleading tags or descriptions to artificially inflate views or engagement.

  • No Scams or Phishing: Do not engage in phishing, attempt to defraud users of their account credentials, ‘Crystals’, personal information, or fiat currency. This includes promoting fraudulent schemes or giveaways.

  • No Malware: Do not share links to viruses, malware, or any other software intended to harm or gain unauthorized access to another person's device or data.

8. Privacy Violations (Doxxing)

  • Protect Private Information: Do not share or threaten to share another person's private personal information without their explicit consent (this includes but is not limited to addresses, phone numbers, private photos/videos, financial information, etc. – also known as "doxxing").

9. Platform Integrity and Financial Misuse

  • One Account Per Person: Do not create or use multiple accounts to circumvent rules, evade bans, or manipulate platform features, unless expressly permitted by Groov in specific circumstances (e.g. official organizational accounts). Using VPNs or proxies to hide your identity for such purposes is also strictly prohibited.

  • No Exploiting Bugs: Do not abuse, exploit or take advantage of bugs, glitches, or unintended loopholes in any part of the Platform, including features related to ‘Crystals’, ‘Digital Gifting’, ‘Pro Subscriptions’, or the ‘Revenue Sharing Program’. For the avoidance of doubt, the publication, promotion and publicization of such bugs, glitches or unintended loopholes (including encouraging or enticing other Platform user to make use thereof) over the Platform is also strictly prohibited. Please immediately report any potential exploits to us immediately.

  • No Unauthorized Transactions: Do not attempt to buy, sell, or trade accounts, ‘Crystals’ (outside of our official purchase mechanisms), or access to features for fiat currency or other off-platform considerations unless explicitly authorized by Groov.

  • No Pressuring for Financial Gain: Do not pressure, guilt-trip, or repeatedly solicit other users for ‘Crystals’, ‘Digital Gifts’, or any form of financial support.

  • Authentic Engagement for Revenue Sharing: Do not artificially inflate views, gift exchanges, ‘Hangout’ attendance, promotional boosts, or any other metric to manipulate the ‘Revenue Sharing Program’. Earnings must be generated through genuine user engagement.

10. Responsibilities of Hosts and Organizers

  • If you host a ‘Hangout’ or organize a tournament, you are also responsible for fostering a positive environment within that space and ensuring that content and conduct adhere to these Community Guidelines and our Terms & Conditions. This includes moderating chat (where applicable) and setting clear rules for your event. Groov reserves the right to intervene at any time and in its absolute discretion if these responsibilities are not met to the reasonable satisfaction of Groov.

11. Illegal Activities

  • Do not use the Platform to promote, facilitate, or engage in any illegal activities, including but not limited to gambling (where prohibited by local law), drug trafficking, or terrorism.

Consequences for Violations:

Violating these Community Guidelines or our Terms & Conditions may result in a range of disciplinary actions (including enforcement under applicable laws, and in serious cases, may be reported to competent authorities) depending on the severity and frequency of the violation, and the impact on the community. Such actions may include, but not be limited to:

  • A formal warning.

  • Removal of the offending content.

  • Temporary or permanent restrictions on using certain Platform features (e.g., chat, Showcase, Hangouts, participating in Tournaments).

  • Temporary suspension of your Groov Account.

  • Permanent termination of your Groov Account.

  • Forfeiture of Crystals, Digital Gifts, or accrued Reward Balance (especially in cases of fraud or severe abuse that impacts the platform's economy or integrity).

  • Reporting to law enforcement authorities if the violation involves illegal activities or poses a threat to public safety.

We aim to be fair and consistent in our enforcement. For some actions, such as content removal or warnings for minor guideline infractions, you may be able to seek clarification or review by contacting our support team. For more significant actions like account suspension or termination, the formal appeals process outlined in our Terms & Conditions applies.

How to Report Violations:

If you encounter content or behavior on Groov that you believe violates these Community Guidelines or our Terms & Conditions, please report it to us immediately. You can typically do this through:

  • In-Platform Reporting Tools: Look for reporting options on user profiles, content, or within chat interfaces.

  • Contacting Support: Reach out to our support team via the in-app help & support system or by emailing us at support@Groov.gg.

When making a report, please provide as much detail as possible (e.g. username(s) involved, links to specific content, screenshots, a clear description of the issue, and timestamps if relevant). This helps us investigate and take appropriate action more effectively. We review reports diligently and take appropriate action where necessary. Please do note that knowingly filing false or abusive reports is itself a violation of these Community Guidelines and may result in enforcement and disciplinary actions as deemed appropriate by Groov in its absolute discretion.

These Guidelines May Evolve:

The world of esports and online communities is dynamic. We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time to address new challenges, clarify rules, comply with legal and regulatory changes or to reflect changes to our Platform. We will notify you of significant updates (e.g. via in-app notification or by posting the changes on our Platform prominently). For the avoidance of doubt, our continued use, or access to the Platform after such changes are effected constitute your acceptance of the Community Guidelines.

Thank You for Being Part of the Groov Community!

Your positive contributions are what make Groov a great place. Let's uphold these standards together and build an incredible global esports platform. If you have questions about these Community Guidelines, please don’t hesitate to contact our support team.
